I'm going to Morocco

Tomorrow morning I'm going back to Morocco for a few days. It's the second time I'll be back since I left and honestly, if I had a choice I wouldn't go... But I really need to go there... When we left we could only take ever so little, because we were escaping and I didn't want anyone to notice. This time I don't know what I'll be up against so I'm really nervous... I hope to be able to take all my personal stuff (books, photos, scrap material) back to Spain with me because I'm afraid that if I leave them there I won't be able to get them back....

My parents are here!

I'm a bit MIA these days because my parents are here and I`m enjoying every minute of it. ;-) It's wonderful to come home from work and find the food ready and the table prepared. And this morning I didn't even have to get up at 7, my parents took care of my kids and took them to school. Being a single mom, things like that are really not something I'm used to, so I really really do enjoy life right now. The only bad thing about having my parents here is that I eat too much. *lol* My mom is such a wonderful cook and my parents are used to have...

Crisis Cleaning Day 1

My parents are coming tomorrow night. Finally!!! They were supposed to come last week but due to the volcano in Iceland pouring out smoke all over the north of Europe their flight was cancelled. My parents live in Sweden so we don't meet as much as we'd like to, but they come and visit twice a year and stay for a week or two. I'm so happy they're coming because on one hand I really do miss them and on the other hand, while they are here, they take care of my kids and my home, and I get a chance to have some rest. This time I'll take a  few...

But it's so much fun to discover new ways to make friends and get your blog known. I'm really having a ball. *lol* I just registered at NetworkedBlogs at FaceBook. Please join me the...

It's Friday, hooray!!!

Oh boy, am I tired or what...? I can't remeber being this tired for a long long time. I know that if I lie down right now I'm going to fall asleep even before my head hits the pillow. It's almos 6 PM so I still have some hours to go before I can go to sleep. It's been a tough week. I've had soooo much work, preparing classes and studying French and Maths. And the weather has been awful, it's been raining most of the time and that really gets on my nerves. I still have lots and lots of things to do this weekend, but every little thing I do is a...

WW - A kick start

Last Tuesday I decided it was time to get back on track with FLY Lady. This is what my living room looked like when I took the furniture out of the kitchen and dining room and stuffed it into the living room so I could clean. You find more Wordless Photos at Wordless Wednesday All We...

Still raining....

I'm so fed up with this weather.... It's been raining for ages now. What is wrong with the weather these days???? O.K., if I was living in Scotland I guess this weather would be rather normal, but hey, I live in Spain because I love to see the sun every day, and for the past months we've only seen the sun in photos.... *sobbing* As it's Sunday we were supposed to go to church. I know going to church on Sundays is rather out of fashion these days, but I really really like going to mass. I really get a kick out of going to mass, at least when the...

French, my nightmare

I've had a really rough time these past days due to me studying French. I have realized that I've forgotten so much. Well, I didn't touch it for over 20 years so I guess it's normal that I've forgotten about most of it. Or maybe I just got too blocked... I studied French for 6 years. First 3 years at school and I LOVED it!!! I studied day and night and really wanted to learn to speak it well. I even had some French speaking pen pals. Then I started Secondary School and we got a new teacher, an old man who must have been a military in his youth...

Traditions are still alive

In an earlier post Ron commented that traditions are still stong here in Spain, and they deffinitely are. Especially here in Andalusia, in the south of Spain, people love the Easter traditions. Even if people generally aren't very religious the rest of the year most people enjoy the processions. And they love to dress their kids up and let them participate....

Nazarenos

These are the "nazarenos" or penitents, who walk along with the Christ or the Virgin durning the procession. Some of them walk barefoot or carry heavy crosses, in order to pay for their sins or to ask for a special favour. The hoods are, according to Ancient traditions, a way to get closer to Paradise.  More Wordless pictures at Wordless Wednesday...

One hour later...

Well, I've been cleaning my home for the past hour so I think I do deserve to take a break. ;-) I didn't finish to clean it all, because I got a bit sidetracked - I had to pick up lots of things from the floors in my kids' rooms, I found 4 grey socks under their beds and since I didn't recognize them I decided to wash them up and surprise!, I found out they were actually 2 black socks, a green and a blue one. Great! My kids are always out of socks, because they can't find the matching sock. Well, tomorrow they'll have four more pairs to use... I...

Time to get organized!

I am living in total CHAOS and that is realy getting on my nerves!!! I feel totally trapped in a situation I can't handle and I definitely don't like living this way. I keep running around in circles, getting exhausted and achieving nothing... But today is the day I begin to change that! It's Tuesday the 13th. In Spain it's like Friday 13th in the English speaking part of the world so it's a day when you need to be extra careful, just in case... ;-) And it's the day I've decided that my life needs to change... There are so many things I need...

Work, work, work...

I'm finally working... Well, officially I'm still unemployed and in a way I am, because my bosses can't afford to pay taxes for me, so they pay me in cash. I don't earn enough to make a living out of my job, but at least I don't have to stay at home getting depressed anymore. I work as a teacher two evenings a week and as a secretary one morning a week. I just looove it!!! *doing the happy dance* Right now I'm really busy because I have to make a curriculum for each class and I have to prepare the material. I work at an academy that help students...

The Easter Procession

Jesus Christ at the cross. The Virgin Mary at daylight. This throne is carried by women only. Look at how they move together to move the throne the way they want. If you look closely, they actually seem to be dancing. The Virgin Mary at night, by the beach. And some typical Easter procession music, called the saet...
