A visit to Benagalbón

Today I went to Benagalbón for the first time. It's a tiny little village some kilometros from where I live, up in the mountains. I fell in love with that village, it reminds me so much of the villages in the Alpujarras, in the province of Granada.

Here are some pictures, so you can see for yourself, what "typical Spanish" really means...

I went there with some of my friends, representing the inmigrant asociation, and we were invited to the typical breakfast of the area, bread with tomatoes, dry cod and lots ando lots of olive oil. ;-) My friends just couldn't stand all that oil, but me, as a true Spaniard, I was happily soaking my piece of bread in the oil. Yummie!!! I LOOOVE olive oil... :-D

Moroccan beach - WW

This is our beach in Morocco, a day in June. I do miss Morocco a lot some days... Today is one of them...

Kiddies on vacation

My boys are on vacation for almost a week – Wednesday to Monday. God, give me patience!!! *lol*

We don’t plan to go anywhere special, since money isn’t on my side, but I’ll try to take them at least once to Malaga and once to one of the villages close to ours. There is so much to do that doesn’t cost a lot of money. Fortunately, my kids are used to living this way, they don’t ask for a lot of things, because they know I couldn’t buy it anyway, even if I wanted to. In a way I think that’s good for them, they have learned that if you want something you have to work hard to get it, things don’t fall out of the blue sky.

I think that’s exactly what’s wrong with kids and specially teens these days. They are so used to get whatever they point their fingers at, and life just doesn’t work that way... Life sucks some times, but it’s still life and it’s up to each and everyone of us to make the best of whatever we’ve got to have a good life.

Selling make up

Several friends of mine sell make up & perfume in their spare time. I think they are doing quite OK so I've decided to give it a try. I've registred for Avon and Oriflame, and I'm on the lookout for more companies. I really really really do need an extra income. Well actually, I'm in desperate need of an income, period, since I'm still unemployed... :-(

I'd like to have a go at Tupperware as well, but I don't really know enough people. I guess I'll have to make this a long term project...

Saturday 9 #2

Saturday 9: Don't Stand So Close to Me

1. Who would you like not to stand so close to you?
My ex husband *lol*

2. Which of the following aspects of your life would you think rates the highest: mind, body or spirit?
Oh, it's a tie, definitely...  Mind or spirit? I don't really know.. It's a tough question....

3. What is your favorite movie line?
Hakuna matata!!!! *lol*

4. What is your favorite movie title?
Pass... I don't know, there are so many movies I like. I really like Spanish movies like "Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios" and Hollywood productions like "You've got mail" (I know, it's a silly movie but it makes me feel good when I watch it) and "Mr & Mrs Smith" (for the same reasons). And as a Tolkien fan, I love love love the movies about the "Lord of the rings". As for favorite movie title as a name, my favorite is "Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto?", "What did I do to deserve this?"

5. What is something that has happened to you that you would consider a miracle?
My oldest son, A, was born with severe meconium aspiration syndrome and was declared just about dead several times the first night. Him being alive is a true miracle!!!!!!!

6. What do you try to stay away from?
Smoking... Alcohol.... Rasists.... Annoying people... People stealing my energy...

7. What is it too late for?
To be a virgin...???? ;-)

8. Give someone credit for something and name it if you can.
Huh...? Oh boy, there are so many great people out there... It would take me at least a week just to mention all the wonderful persons... But since I have to chose just one, I chose Jesus Christ for teaching us how to live our lives and dying for all of us.

9. Would you rather be famous now & forgotten after you die or forgotten now & famous after you die, forever? And why?
Definitely I'd prefer to be famous now and forgotten after I'm gone, because if I'm gone I'm not going to enjoy the fame anyway, right?
